Six national standard projects in the field of quantum information have been approved for initiation.
On December 3rd, the Standardization Administration of China issued the ninth batch of recommended national standard plans for 2024 and the plans for foreign language versions of relevant standards. Six national standard projects under the centralized management of the National Technical Committee for Quantum Computing and Measurement Standardization (SAC/TC 578) were officially approved for initiation.


The newly approved national standard projects this time are led by institutions such as the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei Laboratory, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Shanxi University, and Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology. In terms of quantum computing, efforts will be concentrated on drafting and formulating performance testing methods for quantum computing, the system architecture, functional requirements and performance evaluation methods of the quantum computing service platform, as well as the technical requirements and performance testing methods for the ultra - low temperature and extremely low noise system dedicated to superconducting quantum computing. Regarding core devices, the technical specifications for quantum squeezed light sources and the performance testing methods for periodically poled lithium niobate quantum frequency conversion devices will be drafted, providing basic norms for scientific and technological innovation and industrial development in relevant fields in China, and further improving the national standard system for quantum information technology in our country.
