Yu Dapeng
Yu Dapeng, male, was born in Zhongwei, Ningxia on March 16, 1959. From 1978 to 1982, he majored in glass in the Department of Inorganic Materials, East China University of Science and Technology, received a master's degree from the Institute of Ceramics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1985, and a doctorate degree from the Solid State Physics Laboratory of the University of Southern Paris in France in 1993. From 1995 to 2016, he taught at the School of Physics, Peking University. From 2013 to 2016, he was a distinguished researcher of the Beijing "Quantum Matter Science" Collaborative Innovation Research Center. Since June 2016, he has been a chair professor of the Department of Physics of the Southern University of Science and Technology. More than 400 papers have been published, including more than 100 papers in top professional journals such as Nature and its series, Physical Review Letters, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, Physical Review B, and Applied Physics Letters. The papers were cited by other peers over 20,000 times. He has applied for more than 30 national invention patents (including a number of international PCT patents). In 2000, he was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. In 2004, he won the first prize of "Natural Science" from the Ministry of Education. In 2007, he won the second prize of the National "Natural Science" (first place in Astronomy and Physics). In 2015, he was elected as academician of the Department of Technical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2016, he won the highest award of the Chinese Vacuum Society.
