National Technical Committee 578 on Quantum Computing and Metrology of Standardization Administration of China

The National Technical Committee on Quantum Computing and Metrology of Standardization Administration of China with a code of SAC/TC578 was established in January 2019 by the Standardization Administration of China. Its English name is National Technical Committee 578 on Quantum Computing and Metrology of Standardization Administration of China. SAC/TC578 is under the leadership of the Standardization Administration of China, and its secretariat is managed by Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology. It is responsible for the national standardization of technologies in the field of quantum computing and metrology, mainly involving the standardization of quantum computing and metrology terminology and classification, quantum computing and metrology hardware, quantum computing and metrology software, architecture, and application platforms, etc. The National Technical Committee 578 on Quantum Computing and Metrology of Standardization Administration of China is composed of representatives from government administrative departments, research institutes, industry associations (societies), educational institutions, and enterprises. The tenure of each technical committee member is five years, and the members can be re-appointed consecutively. After approved by the Standardization Administration of China, the first Committee consisted of 43 representatives, including three academicians. Academician Pan Jianwei served as the chairman, and Zhang Qiang, Professor of the University of Science and Technology of China and Executive Director of Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology, served as the secretary-general. With the support and cooperation of the first committee, the Committee has gradually been on the right track, and significant results have been achieved in standard formulation and revision, capacity building, and operation mechanism, which has made important contributions to the standardization of quantum computing and metrology technology in China.
